STAMP brings singing, dancing and acting together through weekly classes, holiday programmes and live productions. It is a community interest company founded in 2006 and based at 5 Frederick Street, South Shields, Tyne and Wear, NE33 5DY.
What does STAMP stand for?
STAMP stands for South Tyneside Academy of Musical Performance. The organisation is commonly called STAMP. Its work combines musical theatre training with the confidence, friendships and sense of belonging that come from making performances together.
Who is STAMP for?
STAMP welcomes children and young people from South Tyneside and the surrounding North East. The regular groups are organised by age: Minis for ages 3–6, Blue Group for ages 7–12 and Green Group for ages 13 and over. Beginners are welcome and regular weekly classes do not require an audition.
What do members learn?
Members develop practical skills in singing, dancing, acting, musical theatre and ensemble performance. Sessions are designed to help young performers practise, make progress and perform with others in a supportive environment. Does STAMP stage productions?
Yes. STAMP creates opportunities to perform in live productions and other performance projects. Production casting or auditions are announced separately when a verified opportunity is current; joining a regular class does not itself require an audition. Current ticket information is published through the official STAMP Box Office.
