Christopher Perry-McCourt

Christopher’s journey with performing arts stems from being a child. At just thirteen years old, he founded The Nearly Famous Performing Arts Group, STAMP’s sister company, with the support of Betty Inkster and his father, Terence. Through The Nearly Famous Performing Arts Group, Christopher produced numerous productions for local charities and established the annual Mayor’s Charity Shows at Temple Park Leisure Centre. It was through this work that he met Colin Bourdiec, helping pave the way for the founding of South Tyneside Academy of Musical Performance (STAMP) in 2006.

Christopher worked as an apprentice with STAMP until 2008, before moving to London to further his professional career. He trained at The London School of Musical Theatre (LSMT), where he graduated with a Merit in 2009.

His credits include: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe at the Palace Theatre, Southend-on-Sea, directed by Bruce James; City of Angels for LSMT at The Bridewell Theatre, London, directed by Graham Hubbard; and Hope The Musical for LSMT at The Bridewell Theatre, London, directed by Fenton Grey, Norma Atallah and Sussan Raasay.

In 2011, Christopher produced and starred in Jonathan Harvey’s Boom Bang-A-Bang at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town, London, directed by Benet Catty.

More recently, Christopher appeared as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2024. In 2025, he was Musical Director for Astravaganza Entertainment’s Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, while also appearing as Tray Sophisticay at The Customs House, followed by Nativity! The Musical, where he was Musical Director and appeared as Mr Paul Maddens at the Sunderland Empire. All three productions were directed by David Ducasse.

Since returning to South Tyneside in 2011, Christopher has directed numerous productions for STAMP, including Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer, Thirteen The Musical and Frozen, and a number of pantomimes.

Alongside his performing arts career, Christopher holds a BA (Hons) degree in Management, complementing his creative experience with a strong academic grounding in leadership and management.

Christopher has more than 15 years’ experience in customer service and local govemrment management. He previously worked as Customer Services Manager for South Tyneside Homes and is now a manager within Adult Social Care for South Tyneside Council. This professional experience has strengthened his commitment to ensuring that STAMP’s services are delivered to a high standard. Christopher is dedicated to making sure that everyone who engages with STAMP has a positive, welcoming and memorable experience.
